Summary
Jorhan of the Iron Fang has formed the Black Maw Gang, taking control of an area of Parassa City, and engaged himself in criminal activities that have brought power and wealth to himself and those who follow him. This includes black market materials, racketeering, and the drug trade (though he does not actively use or involve himself in drugs or let his children do so). He has also become involved in the slave trade but keeps his interests mostly in the sale of Humans and Esadi, though he finds it detestable to sell or buy children – he will do so to get them out of the market and give them a place in the gang if they want it.
Personality
Although Jorhan wants power and control and is pushed into what one could consider criminal trade, he does this to ensure the safety and security of the ‘family’ he has created and established in Parassa City. He is a sensible person with a caring heart. He is adaptable, courageous, courteous, empathetic, friendly, hospitable, persistent, resourceful, and responsible.
Jorhan’s primary goal is to protect the people who have joined themselves to him. They have become his family in this strange place, and he doesn’t want anything to happen to them. To take care of the weak and helpless as best he can. It’s one of his goals, which aligns with Larael’s life mission.
Black Maw Gang
There are other gangs that are fighting over the same turf and resources. He has tried to negotiate with them. Some he has non-aggression pacts with, but there are some that simply have no desire to play nice and want what he has While Jorhan wants to have greater influence and interaction with the aristocratic levels, they tend to look down on the gangs as inferior. This causes conflicts and the aristocrats tend to pit one gang against another, maneuvering them as chess pieces against their rivals.
It is this maneuvering and the occasional trouble that is caused by it that has caused so much trouble for Jorhan setting things up the way he wants to. Black Maw isn’t one of the most powerful gangs in the undercity. They are strong enough to keep their territory and encroach on some of the lesser of the powerful gangs, but the reality is that they are able to keep their position out of luck more than power.
